High antibody level
I was recently evaluated for a kidney transplant and was told that my antibody level (my cPRA) is 98%. This is an extremely high number - the range is from 0-99. The higher the number, the harder it is to find a kidney match because there is a far greater likelihood that my body will reject almost any kidney. Ideally, they want your level to be less than 20% for a successful transplant and for the standard wait time on the deceased donor list.
Did any of you that have already had a transplant have a high cPRA or antibody level? Is there anything that can be done to still have a successful transplant? How did you find a donor that was a match who's kidney you wouldn't reject? Thanks.

Re: High antibody level
For nearly two-thirds of people living with CKD, their kidney disease is caused by either diabetes or high blood pressure. I have been diagnosed with CKD 2 years ago and I did what my Nephrologists told me. Started dialysis at the earliest and now I am doing good. I would recommend www dot davita dot com, and I have got my kidney transplant from Davita center in Bangalore.
